Jackfruit

Young unripened, jackfruit is frequently used as plant-based meat alternative... did not see that coming. We definitely need to do a survey of all the so-called "super foods" at the Rs Farm. We enjoy the taste of the ripe fruit but have recently discovered that it can be stewed, curried and barbecued.

Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) is a realtive of the fig, mulberry and breadfruit.

Bounty of JackFruit used to result in the delights below. We're going to experiment the next time it's in season.
