Sourie

This member of the five finger family is called Sourie in Guyana. Averrhoa bilimbi is also known as bilimbi or cucumber tree.

Bilimbi fruit is said to treat whooping cough, acne, and ulcers. It may also be used to prevent diabetes.

Sourie is used to make Sour. This is the tasty condiment for Guyanese blood pudding and pholourie. At The Rs Farm we use it to make jams, preserves, trini chow, chutneys and other delicious delights.
