When I think of turmeric the rhizome powder or fresh root and all it's "super powers" come to mind but there is so much more here.
The flowers are beautiful and the leaves stand on their own in the culinary landscape.
The leaves are rich in curcumin, a powerful antioxidant. It is also known as an anti-carcinogen with strong anti-inflamatory properties. In addition to cooking the leaves are also used to reduce gas and bloating, keep skin blemish free and aid minor burns and cuts. The Tumeric flowering at The R's Farm is always and beautiful sight.
